The Olive Tree Certificate in Conflict Analysis & Resolution offers students an immersive, experiential education around regional and interpersonal conflict strategies. This certificate combines academic training and workshops on and off campus consisting of the two courses listed below, in addition to a 3-week trip with the Olive Tree Initiative to Washington DC, NY, Jordan, Israel and the West Bank OR a Turkey/Armenia study trip on the U.S. East Coast*.

The certificate program consists of the following requirements:

  1. Summer Trip 
  2. Intl St   189 - Engaging Conflict (4 units – Fall quarter)
  3. Soc Sci   189 - Leadership and Scholarship Development (4 units – Spring quarter)

Completing all three (3) requirements satisfies the international experience towards the International Studies major. 

*Participation on the trip is contingent on active involvement in the Olive Tree Initiative student group on campus, and an application process for the trip.
